Sunday, May 20, 1012, will be the annual Big Brew event at Stephen’s Brew Barn. We’ll be starting at 9:30 am. We’re hoping that several CVBG brewers will be willing to haul their brewing setup out to the Brew Barn and make beer! Mack has offered to bring out pasta and sauce for an easy lunch, but we’ll need additional help with support foods. Please post on the Big Brew forum thread if you plan on attending.
We’re hoping you’ll join other CVBG members for a day of companionship, fun and beer!
Sociables Ale House
The May 2012 CVBG gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. at Sociables Ale House, in Turlock. You must be a logged in, authorized user, on the CVBG Forums to view the location of the gathering.
The topic for the evening will be the CVBG Big Brew and general brew chatter. The beer style of the month will be Cascadian Ales (also called Black IPAs:). Please bring commercial or homebrewed examples to share and discuss.
We have a unique opportunity to get some quality time with Barley & Wine’s Wyeast rep, but we’ll need to move the April gathering night to facilitate his availability. The April 2012 Gathering will take place at Barley & Wine, on Friday, April 6, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 pm. This would be a wonderful chance to ask all of your yeast questions, and get answers directly from a primary source.
Please bring any recent homebrews to share during the evening.

The March 2012 CVBG gathering will be a social event at Dust Bowl Tap Room, in Turlock. We’ll be getting together on Tuesday, March 6, at 6:30 pm, for an evening of companionship and merriment. Please join us if you can, for an evening of responsible imbibing of quality ales!
Don should have a special, newly released ale for you to try that evening, if you lean toward the dark and malty side of the beer universe:)

The February 2012 gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 6:30 p.m., at Barley & Wine, in Modesto. We’ll be talking about homebrew record keeping, so bring your brewing log books and recipe binders to share and discuss. The style of the night will be a great choice for the dead of winter – barleywine! Please bring commercial examples of barleywine, as well as any recent homebrews you’d like to share.
